Day 4- Iowa City, Iowa- The Picador

The drive from omaha to iowa city was short as hell, but long as fuck.
Sitting bitch between (o/a--barrett) and no-smoking sums my experience up fairly accurately.
I didn't sleep at in the jeep, but the lovesac @ ian's last night made up for it 100%.

Tonight we played with our favorite iowa citians- rusty buckets; this is the second consecutive iowa city show with these duders. The last time we played with them the picador was gabe's oasis. No problem our non-21'r front:
$1 beers + half off drinks :. happy us.
Apparently our buddy drewmgibson (baby birds don't drink milk, don't ride your elephant to school, darling at sea) has created a band with eric 'chippendale' ratzel (ex-boo milk hotel too, brian). Look, they have a myspace and they're playing @ the embassy in kc on july 25: videos and songs for your aural and viewing pleasure.

----->
DINOSAURS ARE VERY LARGE

on the drive, we listened to:
the beatles- sgt. pepper's lonely heart club band
why?- elephant eyelash
devendra banhart- cripple crow
animal collective- feels

tonight's setlist:
alleys in white chapel
everyday i saw you in egypt
bottom of the lake
sometimes at night
obviously
i know nothing's all right

____

for all you kids wanting new song titles, there you go.
___

we're headed to chi town tomorrow. iggy baby+co, the beach, and a show with the prids @ the note should make for an enjoyable evening. indian food on devon and maybe some deep dish is going to hit the spot.
we'll be coming back to chicago after a few days for the p4k music festival to see sonic youth/slint/gza

__

almost fit for adbusters and FOUND at rusty bucket's abode:

"for every girl who is tire of acting weak when she is strong, there is a boy tired of appearing strong when he feels vulnerable. for every boy who is burdened with the constant expectation of knowing everything, there is a girl tired of people not trusting her intelligence. for every girl who is tired of being called over-sensitive, there is a boy who fears to be gentle, to weep. for every boy whom competition is the only way to prove his masculinity, there is a girl who is called unfeminine when she competes. for every girl who throws out her e-z-bake oven, there is a boy who wishes to find one. for every boy struggling not to let advertising dictate his desires, there is a girl facing the ad industry's attacks on her self-esteem. for every girl who takes a step toward her liberation, there is a boy who finds the way to freedom a little easier."
